She proudly celebrates the incredible work of her team on a daily basis, which includes brand elevating national media coverage, top podcast interviews, impactful target audience engagement, and select speaking opportunities. Takeaways:

  • Build a book and launch a legacy: Why it’s critically important to think about the long-term potential and value your book launch can have, and how to develop a marketing and publicity plan to support it
  • Brand building vs. audience building opportunities: Why both are equally important to your book and your speaking career
  • The speaker/author partnership: Why (and when) you should consider writing a book as part of your speaking platform and marketing plan

Main points for attendees to know:

  • This is a long-term investment when used wisely and strategically: Media coverage is not only powerful is the moment it happens but, with the right plan in place, you should be able to continue leveraging it for years to come. This mentality is important in understanding the time commitment, collaboration, and financial investment of a publicity and marketing campaign.
  • Be ready to answer these questions: who is your target audience, what are your goals for your book and personal brand, and why is this the time for you to launch a book/new book. We ask these questions in our first introductory call to ensure we can align on developing a tailored campaign specific to who you are trying to reach and what you hope to achieve through our work.
  • Beware the “one-size-fits-all” plan: Publicity and marketing are areas filled with a wide array of options and paths to consider. What should be at the heart of any tailored campaign is an idea of how we can best reach your target audiences. This may also mean being flexible in the overall timeline of the campaign too. If a book publicist has a hard and fast rule of one type of campaign, it’s likely missing some key opportunities for creating impactful and valuable awareness.
