Our May speaker is a member of the CPAE Speaker Hall of Fame with 26 years experience as a full-time speaker and member of NSA. She will share with you lessons learned, ah-ha’s and faux-pas from a girl with a dream to the speaker hall of fame.  In this session, you will learn how to connect more effectively with:

  • Meeting planners
  • Bureau agents
  • Other speakers
  • and the most important one of all….well, you’ll have to tune in to find out!

In addition to learning how to better connect to grow your business, you’ll hear stories of massive mistakes she’s made as well as what has worked for her.

Meet Keynote Speaker Marilyn Sherman, who just recently was inducted to the National Speaker Association’s CPAE Speaker Hall of Fame.  She is one of 182 members in the world who hold this designation, that is a representation of her body of work in the speaking profession to the clients she has served for over 25 years. In those years, she has motivated audiences to get out of their comfort zone and get a front-row seat in life. Marilyn is also the author of four motivational books including “Is There A Hole In Your Bucket List? “, “Whose Comfort Zone Are You In?”, “Why Settle for the Balcony, how to get a Front-Row Seat in Life” and “Front-Row Service”.

After starting her career in corporate America, she is now seen as the go-to motivational keynote speaker for corporate and association markets that want their people to improve their morale, teamwork, and communication skills and ultimately achieve more results. With her background as a training officer for a major finance company, Marilyn honed her skills to motivate audiences who are often hard to motivate. With her engaging, and fun personality, Marilyn connects with her audiences quickly and delivers content that they can immediately use when they get back to their office.

Marilyn is a graduate of Washington State University and after working for Chrysler First Financial Services, she was a contract speaker for one of the top seminar companies in the United States and Canada. She officially received road warrior status after delivering six-hour professional development seminars up to 5 cities a week up to three weeks a month for five years! In 1998, she founded UpFront Presentations, a speaking and training company serving companies in the corporate, franchise, and direct sales world just to name a few. She has earned her Certified Speaking Professional designation, the highest earned designation in the speaking profession, held by less than 12% of professional speakers worldwide. She has served in several capacities for the National Speakers Association, where she learned to grow her speaking business.  She loves living in Las Vegas and serves on the board of The Village Of Hope, an after-school program for underprivileged kids.

Your Meeting Host – Jen Slaw

Jen Slaw works with companies struggling to keep up with constant change and looking to improve employee engagement, productivity and innovation. She’s shared her unique approach to problem-solving and life juggling on various news & morning TV shows, the Late Show with David Letterman, Off-Broadway and TEDx stages. A former structural engineer and world-record-holding expert juggler, she uses principles of juggling to teach strategies that result in more balanced, productive, motivated, creative problem solvers and effective collaborators. Jen‘s interactive virtual keynote experiences and training programs provide hands-on learning and engagement to reveal insights and tools for adopting a growth mindset, integrating work/life, staying nimble in the face of change, strengthening teams, and creating a positive work environment. She holds degrees in engineering and art from Swarthmore College and is proud to serve NSA NYC as Director of Programming.
