The Art of Making & Managing Money

Learn how to take control of your money from the small business CFO, Jonathan Ankney

About the Working Session

These are interactive learning sessions for 10 NSA NYC professional members that arrive with computers in hand, ready to grow professionally and learn new strategies that can completely revolutionize their businesses.

Small business accounting and finance expert Jonathan Ankney will roll his shirt sleeves up with the rest of us and show us how we can create simple, easy-to-use financial systems in our speaking businesses so that we can take charge of our money. Unlike many accountant-led workshops though, this will look at both the administrative side of finance (keeping records, software, and processes) and generating wealth (creating value as speakers, investing in ourselves and our businesses, and budgeting).

While all are welcome to attend, this workshop will be most beneficial to those speakers who do their own record-keeping.

About the Speaker

For the last 15 years, Jonathan Ankney, the chief CFO of Small Business CFO, has been working with small businesses and non-profits continually in a variety of financial management functions. Whether by consulting or by working “in the trenches” with business owners, he uses the variety of skills and techniques gained through his broad experience. Jonathan founded Small Business CFO in 2004 in response to the critical need he saw in small businesses and non-profit organizations: regardless of development stage, they still needed guidance, accounting services, and financial expertise to thrive. Since incorporating, he has helped over 100 small businesses in areas including financial systems development, forecasting, cash flow management, and payroll.

In addition to financial management work, Jonathan is the financial columnist for Smart Hustle (link) magazine, is an active Toastmaster, and serves on the finance committee of the parish of Calvary-St. George (link) in Manhattan. He graduated from Binghamton University in 1994 with an MBA in finance and arts administration.
